In this pilot episode, we discover the works of New York-based Lithuanian composer Žibuoklė Martinaitytė which revolve around the subject of beauty which she calls both a guiding principle and an aesthetic measure for sonic quality. Her recent CD release Saudade of her orchestral works gained critical acclaim with reviews in The New York Times, Gramophone, BBC Music, and Stereophile magazines. She shares her experiences living a musical life in New York and Lithuania while sharing captivating moments of her methods and inner world.
